Description
William Kelley gave this a 97+ Parker Point score. Cristal Champagne, along with its distinct flat bottom and clear glass, was invented upon request of a Tsar of Russia in 1876. Made from low yielding Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines, aged for 6 years on texture-building lees, this 2012 is said to be one of the greatest vintages by Louis Roederer. It is complex, lively and powerful, with a concentrated, long finish and great balance. Cristal is remarkably balanced and refined Champagne whose length is inimitable. It has a silky texture and fruity aromas, complemented by a powerful mineral quality with white wine fruit and citrus notes. Cristal is a wine that keeps well, it can be conserved for over twenty years without losing its fresh character.
